Global Sleep Health Leader Poised to Reach Millions More Sleep Seekers
ATLANTA — June 22, 2022 — Nox Health has named Heidi Riney, MD, D.ABPN, as the company’s Chief Medical Officer. As one of the country’s leading experts on the intersection of sleep and health, Dr. Riney assumed the role in March 2022 after 12 years serving as medical director of the company’s sleep program in Georgia. She will be at the forefront of the company’s compelling growth strategy to serve millions more people whose overall health suffers from poor sleep. As CMO, she will lead all medical programming and healthcare innovation across business units and play a supportive role in medical device technology development.
“We have a sleep epidemic,” says Dr. Riney. “It is one thing to say it needs to be addressed, but yet another to say we can do this—help people—beyond educating them. Nox has the solution. What we are offering is revolutionary and life-changing for millions of people.”
Nox Health delivers proven, people-centered solutions that address the global sleep epidemic. In the United States, Nox Health provides the SleepCharge program to employer-sponsored health plans and health systems, a comprehensive solution that helps people access sleep healthcare, establish medical care and long-term treatment and support. Currently, hundreds of thousands of employees of U.S. companies have access to SleepCharge.
“We have the incredible ability to reach people who have never had access to the types of solutions Nox offers,” said Nox Health CEO Sigurjon Kristjansson. “Nox is on the forefront of where the field of sleep medicine can go, and we are fortunate to have Dr. Riney on the team to lead us forward.”
Nox Health recognizes the foundational work of Dr. Riney’s predecessor, Dr. Jeffrey Durmer, who served as Nox’s first Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Durmer played a critical role in the development of Nox Health and SleepCharge. As CMO, Dr. Durmer was responsible for the medical design of population sleep health programs, the development of outcome metrics and the implementation of clinical science across the organization. “Having trained Dr. Riney as a neurologist and sleep medicine physician, I have every confidence in her medical acumen and attention to detail,” says Dr. Dumer. “I look forward to seeing her make her mark on the Nox Health population sleep healthcare programs.”
Dr. Riney is board-certified in sleep medicine and neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), Georgia Association of Sleep Professionals (GASP) and National Sleep Foundation (NSF), where she serves on the Public Affairs Committee. She completed her medical training at Wake Forest, a neurology residency and neurophysiology fellowship at Emory University and a sleep medicine fellowship at FusionSleep.
